Check out an excerpt below, and read the full article at the link.

📑 New publication in a special joint, Open Access issue of Imaginations: Journal of Cross-Cultural Image Studies and @thegoosejournalca on Sustainable Publishing. The piece is called ‘Notes on a Research Proposal’, and was coauthored with @amyvictoriabutt. Link in bio and also: https://doi.org/10.17742/IMAGE29736 Thank you to everyone who made time for me this last trip to Okinawa. You aren’t all pictured here (in most cases because I forgot to get your picture!), but you are appreciated and awesome and will be missed. Our second BASE workshop was so different from the first. We went from a cozy community space at @sabani_space on the 16th to a central hall in the university museum on the 18th, and from a collection of small tables to one big long table laid out like a feast. Both workshops were unexpectedly lovely – @distance_of_9195km and I didn’t quite know what we were getting into or who we would meet, but at every turn we found enthusiasm, curiosity, generosity, kindness, and a keen honesty that deeply moved us. First BASE zine workshop yesterday. Thanks so much @sabani_space for generous and supremely chill hosting, and to workshop participants @tsuhahiromi @tsupuri @naokouchima @umikaji_zine @aiue0euia @saori_yamazato @yumi_tsuha @narrative_care @y.kaname21 @melepono.apartment.tobaru and @souvenir_londonokinawa for your beautiful selves and your beautiful zines 📖 🌈. @distance_of_9195km and I are still sorting through all the photos! 以下日本語訳 Thanks @sabani_space for letting me sit and make some things! See you again hopefully for a workshop in May 😊 First time catching Mao Ishikawa’s work in an exhibition this weekend (thanks @kyotographie and @kondayagenbei). Boots on the ground in 2024 The International Gothic Association conference is always a highlight of my year.
